Emily Chadick Weiss


Emily Chadick Weiss hails all the way from Brooklyn Heights. She graduated from Northwestern University in June, 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Performance Studies and a Certificate for the Creative Writing for the Media Program. Emily is a winner of the Young Playwrights Inc. National Playwriting Contest and had a reading of her play Presyncopal at the Cherry Lane Theatre. She is also a three time winner of Northwestern’s Agnes Nixon Playwriting Contest. In her high school days at Saint Ann’s School, Emily received two Gold Keys and One Silver Key for her writing from the Scholastic Art and Writing awards. Her play, Fish was adapted into a film for the Vermont summer program Fledgling Films. In New York City, Emily’s one-act, The Stages of Grief was performed in The Sackett Group’s Women’s Work V:A Festival of One-Act Plays Directed by Women performed at the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse. Emily is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild.
