Sam Forman

SAM FORMAN is the lyricist and co-book author for the musical I Sing! which has been produced off-Broadway and in regional theaters throughout the USA. A cd recording from The York Theater Concert Cast of I Sing! is available in stores worldwide from Jay Records. Sam’s other plays and musicals include: The Grille Room (workshop at the DR2 Theater featuring Swoosie Kurtz, Dan Lauria and Len Cariou; later produced in The Cherry Lane Mentor Project 2005), Quarterlife (workshop at The Ford Center featuring Armando Riesco and Miriam Shor, dir. Mark Brokaw (a screen adaptation of Quarterlife is currently in development to star Jason Ritter and Marguerite Moreau), Fringical! (Ars Nova, NYC; American Theatre of Actors), The Quiet Game (Hangar Theater, Ithaca NY and Chashama, NYC), Krankenhaus Blues (Blue Heron Theater, NYC), Please Stop Talking (Trilogy Theater, NYC), Hunter For Hunter Green (Singularity Company, NYC), Schmoozy Togetherness: a kid's play (Manhattan Theater Source, NYC), Narcissus and Goldstein (Pantheon Theater, NYC), Rob (Naked Angels, NYC), Do You Like Me Europe? (Dostotheaterfest, Berlin), Living Arts / I’m In Relationship Hell (Magnetic North).  Sam's play Newton's Second Law is available from Dramatic Publishing and is regularly performed in High Schools and Colleges throughout the USA and Canada.  Sam is also a member of Youngblood at the Ensemble Studio Theater, the Dramatists Guild and an associate producer for Back House Productions.  He also produces Creation Nation: A Live Talk (monthly at Ars Nova, NYC).  Sam has a Bachelors Degree in Performance Studies from Northwestern University and an MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University.  He is represented by The Paradigm Agency.
